an orange
not fruit, the color
the glow that comes
from ordinary friction
result combustion

very invisible flame
section
base of blue,
near yellow
at the orifice,
the opening of escape,

near spark

we hid with knives
holding a peach hostage
giggling
while fire breaths
we split our affection
flames chase
regardless

now present tensed

we kiss and say kiss again
then ask, then say it with distance
the rows go for ever
finally ask; no answer
