I need a city
Full of heart yet ever heartless
Cold
Ignorant
Savage
Never underestimate a small town
Shaping figures into mindless drones who

Filled with dreams
And shattered dreams filled with hope
Yet
Ever
Hopeless
Shatter hopeless dreams filled with heart
Calling to the dreamers on the current

And its heart
Is swept away on the gutter's current
Spring
Raining
Renewing
The gutter as it floods swelled with runoff
Melting away on the cold winter spirit

And calling voices
Spread out like footsteps across the pavement
Comes
Words
Spirits
Replaced with spring and hope again
Need a city

I like the sentiment expressed

and the simplicity and unsubtle power of your verse.
