Behind closed doors
I may burn candles and incense
and draw pictures of flowers.

When convinced that I am alone
I have been known to daydream
of springtime and firesides.

In the company of strangers
I will argue the value of love songs
and flirt shamelessly with a shy guest.

Sitting by myself in the sun
I will get up to play with children
I have never seen before.

Sometiems at night
I secretly wish upon the early star
and send the sky my dreams.

And even though I won't admit it
I sometimes write poetry for you
and quietly kiss you goodnight.
