The ocean on a stormy day
Sea-foam flecked waves tossing
The tender bud of a maple tree
Stretching for the sun
Honeydew cool and crisp
Drenching sweetness on a parched tongue
Green makes me hopeful.

A baby’s bottom lip during naptime
Moist and innocent
Sunsets’ loudest fanfare
Gilt edged and fine
Sexy lacquered toenails
Hot and bright and bold
Pink makes me happy.

A cloudless expanse of azure
Deceptively touchable
Tiny robin eggs
Nestled safely high above danger
My lover’s eyes
Steely and strong
Blue calms me.

A summer strawberry
Perfect in its sweetness
A full blown rose
It’s scent lush and spicy on the wind
Glossy wet lipstick
Staining his white collar
Red excites me.

Life is a rainbow of emotions.
Taste the rainbow!

~~

Life's hues run the spectrum of light we can see, and those we can't, with all those possibilities contained therein.
