Completely Random

Sometimes my words
they feel like a curse
'cause they come in these waves
that I'll only remember today
if i don't put it down
or sketch out a rhyme
well i wonder then how
can i bring it to mind?

the verse isn't prosaic
more like mosaic
in a puzzle of pieces
you get to figure yourself
so while you get to crackin
these letters are rappin'
to the beat of the piper
peter picked inside my brain
tell me how do i maintain
a level of sanity and remain
some sort of normal human being
upon an earth so far from plain?

it's not that i'm complaining,
but the fact that I'm claiming
to be strange sets me apart
as part of the artful true-hearted
when this all started
there was a garden
and choices
which had to be made

the point that i'm getting to
is that if i am letting you
interact with my head's petting zoo
then it's obvious to me
that i have to be sane
only the sane can question
the validity of the brain
and therefore severely strain
over the matter
before finally giving up

a deep thought such as that
can trap you as a hare in a magician's hat
until some piece of paper
allows you to fill it
with useless nonsense, still it
seems a nice hobby
when sitting in the lobby
of an existence known as life
