When he heard her moan
it made him scream
and somewhere inside
he’s still screaming
through pills and booze
with a gun in his hand
he was carted away

just yesterday

she told me the effect
is charmingly contagious
and that now there is someone
who makes her glow
without pills and booze
or a gun in hand
she has found salvation’s
infectious arms
