I’d write you a letter,
But it would be too long,
I can’t play the guitar,
Or I’d write you a song.

I’d give you a ring,
But it’d have a cold stone.
Just a material thing,
You’d still be alone.

I’d rope the moon,
But what could we do?
Not a moment too soon,
I’ve something to tell you.

I’ll tell you I love you,
And hope you can see,
I’m not that woman you knew,
I’m in love with you – without you – I’m not me.

I love your family and friends,
Everything you are interested in and do,
Beautiful horses, funny lil chickens,
I’m so ver crazy about you!

Maybe someday I’ll lasso your head,
Make you see this woman’s worth it,
And we could wed –
If not, grab some whiskey and hop in bed.
