You treated me like a doll,
something you placed on a shelf.
Time would pass and you would take me down,
being so warm and tender.

Dance Doll Dance

But most of the time I sat on the shelf,
lonely and cold.
I put up with the coldness,
knowing it was wrong.
But whenever you snapped your fingers,
(that secret command)
There I was

Dance Doll Dance

Soon you would tire of me,
and place me back on my lonely shelf.
And I would sit there and wait.
Wait for someone to come and hold me close.
But as soon as anyone came,
you'd pull me near and refuse to let me go.

Dance Doll Dance

Now you have lost your doll,
I am free from your toy land.
I have been taken off that shelf,
and been given love and warmth.
I am giving love and being loved in return.

Yes, your doll is gone ... never to return.

For another treats me like a WOMAN.
