In the very darkness of night,
There appeared from nowhere a beacon of light.

Unbeknownst to them, they would collide.
Two separate worlds looked to be on a mission of certain suicide.

Upon that impending explosion of immense proportions,
The two became one in a blinding state of distortions.

When all had cleared and few had dared to look,
The amazing results could not be forsook.

Each was their own entity; yet
Together they formed a union on what one would not soon forget.

The darkness met the light and together,
Each gave onto the other a tether.

One built not of steel or leather, but glass,
So gossamer to the touch, yet unbreakable by one or by mass.

This bond was forged from an unadulterated love,
So giving and true most would never conceive of.

Keeping their own identities, the merging had wrought
A beauty of two dancing together that gave others food for thought.

Through a tangled twist of fate,
This union of two would not abate.
