Tears that leave a salty streak
stream like water down my cheek,
sadness opens up my heart
like when my life was torn apart.

The day you said you could not stay
hurts like you left me yesterday.
Wounds that bleed are hard to heal
a heart thats now afraid to feel.

No love to grow and cure the pain
the days go by, just the same.
I spend the time wondering why
the love we shared had to die.

Now the task of mending hearts
to find a love that will not part
a joy thats real and so fulfilling
a love that lasts and neverending.
