Delicious Poison

comes in the a.m.
ranting about
which pass to go through
to bring about breakfast
in bacon-scented trudge
      and blocks
      gasps
      indigo maroon coating

comes on the other side of Christmas
where we expect garlands
of something grey
      but, challenged,
      can surface bubbles
in that iridescent bend of lip

comes while late afternoon words jingle
irrelevant
and territory is marked
in superfluous accents
      and the moment aches
      aligning brainwaves
      pronounced alive
