there are things out there~

things that bring screams in the night.

not of pleasure~but of pain once inflicted.

the sound of your soul dying bit by bit,

while the echos shatter the velvety silence.

to feel the hands so vivid after all this time,

as the claws tear into innocent flesh.

to hear that voice low in your ear~

as the heated breath washes over you.

your mind becomes your worst enemy.

waking to trembling muscles,

sweat soaked sheets and red swollen eyes.

~the screams rob your voice~

sleep a chamber of torture...

the demons that rise~tearing apart your joy.

the rattled shell of your body,

being left to go through the motions.

the smile but a mask to hide the pain,

as the memeories come flooding back.

not a word you dare speak,

a promise made so long ago in the dark.

the tears only bringing laughter.

your pain his joy.

the eyes of the world veiled to the suffering.

the shadows that hide you~your only solitude.

your soul battered and bruised.

the strength to raise up slipping away.

the screams all that are left to consoul you.

wishing~praying

none of them work.

the locks on the boxes have broken,

the demons roam free~

claiming your thoughts even in the light of day.

there is no hope in the twilight of your mind~

only the bitter tears of a child.
