The word eludes me
Like a lover whose name I cannot recall

I feel it nestled against my mind
Just as skin once touched mine
The warmth of a faceless caress

It's on the tip of my tongue
Like the linger of their taste on my lips
A drop of burning honey

A definition like their scent
Familiar and full of memories and associations
Cloying nostalgia

A name dancing before me taunting
A voice as haunting as my lost phrase
A word of reminiscence

It's floating idly somewhere in my brain
Like that lover's name of whom I was so fond
Misplaced, elusive perhaps

But not forgotten
It will come to me in time
