drugged by the liquid glaze of touch-
lips, fingers, tongue,

still buried inside her,
as she breathes into my mouth
I am absorbed into the spaces between
her heartbeats
spilling into my hand as I hold her breast ...

half darkness,
the thin silver arc of a new-born moon frozen in glass,

by the bed,
candles unfurl their fluted tongues of fire,
ascend to explore the night, and
opening her secrets like a lover’s kiss,
she breathes us into purple air, and
wraps our bodies in the velvet glove of sleep
