in our brave new
               post-apocalyptic world
         sex is background radiation

a few unsteady
clicks on a lemon yellow box
         are all that remain

of the great heat
that once fused skin and meme
         left now just puddled glass

and damaged chromosomes
               but, o my love, o
i took you out as well, as well

& so these beetles eat our bones

Excellent poem. I think everything about it works for me.

beautiful and sad

Poetically, this is skillful and well-crafted. Emotionally, it was deeply affecting. Well done.

It's a weird and quirky world explored herein, where beetles rule.
