Doggie Boy

Hiding under the porch,
looking out in fear.
there's no one to see me,
shedding all my tears.

You put me out last night,
for things I'll never know
Just for being myself,
having nowhere else to go.

So I sit here and wait,
for your call from the door.
So I can crawl past you
and curl up on the floor.

Everything will be fine
for at least a couple days.
My tail will start wagging,
from your words of praise.

Until I do something,
that's going to make you mad.
It's all that I deserve,
because I've been so bad.

The rolled up newspaper,
comes down upon my ass.
Rubbing my nose,
Iin the dirt of my past.

Is it easy to cast away,
what you think will come back?
To enforce all of your rules,
regardless of their impact.

Did it occur to you,
that there might come a day?
When your little Doggie Boy,
would just run away.
