there’s a dark side
he’d been to prison
the wasted 80’s
she pondered all
implications
but is unconcerned
having been locked
in the dark too
she understands
a hard hungry man
going down easy
with a soft woman

perhaps for changing times

I was taken very easy by this poem which sounds so much like a ballad which should be fitted with the right melody and sung to all whose lives are hanging there and then one day there might be something else for them too...

And thanks again LeBroz for directing me to this poet throuuh your selections!

Good one!

Up front and to the point. Well written, love the last 3

lines. They would of been lost in a longer wordy poem.

Very good...

an interesting flow with this one, an intriguing poem. I am left to wonder if both are falling downward or if it's a clever hint of sexuality at the end. I like that...
