Dream

I dream of you while I lay awake at night,
unable to grasp restful sleep,
even on the darkest of nights.
I dream of you in the light of day,
when I am fully awake
and have my senses about me.
I dream of you while I shouldn't,
when my thoughts should be turned
toward the matters of the day.
I dream of you when I have nothing else to do,
when nothing else fills the thoughts of my mind.
I dream of you when I have too many things to do,
and it would all proceed to overwhelm me,
if not for the thought of you.
I dream of things you say and do,
of things you have said and done,
and things you say you will do.
But mostly of what I see when I look in your eyes,
all the secrets and pleasures they whisper to me,
when they look upon me.
I dream of you in the deepest of sleeps,
filling all the dreams that keep me through the night,
from those that haunt and taunt me,
to the most passionate of the nights pleasures.
I dream of you all the time,
while awake or sleeping,
I cannot escape you,
you never leave me,
always at my side,
even at the back of my mind.
You are always with me,
even when you leave me...

In the end it's just a dream.
