Eyes so sad, lips drawn taut
A face that describes times hard fought
yet grace beneath the eyes is there
hidden beneath the ice cold stare
How I wish to touch that face
to take her to another place
of happy times and gentle love
cherished moments blessed from above
where the wind sighs when our eyes meet
where the sun shines down on our feet
where gentle brook invites us to wander
through grassy meadow and over yonder
through rich forests warm and soft
where we can climb up aloft
to be alone and wonder oft
if this be just a glorious dream
or if its real what does it mean?
are you afraid of what my heart sings
tell me now before I scream
unto the heavens of my plight
there is nothing that on this night
I wish more than you in my arms
and cherish all your subtle charms
to love you like you have deserved
with hard times leaving us unswerved
and true to each of us we stay
until death takes us both away.
