You were mine...the reason I live again.
You were the only light I had...my only friend.
You were my dream-catcher
You took my dreams and saved them
You were my magic spell-my lover.
I needed you to fight the nightmares
To kill the dark beasts of my mind
To bring me sunlight and happiness once more
But I guess it was all a lie.
The charm of leather, twine, and feathers
Supposedly helped me sleep at night as a child
You changed all that forever
You were my fairy-tale-come-true.
Whatever I did to hurt you
I'm sorry I wasn't enough
I thought I could count on you all the way through
But as the saying goes, 'life is tough'
Saying goodbye killed me,
It sent me back inside my shell
I don't know if I'll ever come out
Because you only laughed when I fell.
I realize you were my dream-catcher
You stole my dreams and gave me fears
I see that you used me, that you're a liar
Getting rid of my new nightmares will take years.
Thanks very much, one-of-bright-light
I pray your next victum will put up a huge fight
Because what you saw in me as a stubborn goth
Is really an abandoned broken-hearted child lost.
