Leave your friends at home
Things will not be right tonight

They've had the pleasure of seeing you
In all your unfortunate glory
Like a flower of the obscenely contorted abyss

The terrible thought you acted upon
The exquisite nightmare that truly happened
Utterly pleasant apocalyptic dreams
Carried out as though it were commonplace

You can hear the devil using his flint
Striking it against itself
Lighting his eternal fire under your soul
The empty silent presence of immortality

Like a starless horizon devoured by nightfall
So dark it could swallow your soul
Like the feeling of the only streetlight going out
As you wander underneath it

Was that look a glimmer of impending dread that just crossed your face?
