Dreams

i drempt a little dream tonight

just a silly little dream, perhaps
but you were there, so close to me
kissing me
loving me
as surely as i
was loving you...

and there was no other reality
but you and i...

no other world existed
outside of us
in that moment
of unity...

i smiled, and woke
to find myself alone
and my heart fell
for, suddenly
it was not my own...

only a letter in my hand
a poem under my pillow
a picture by my head
and songs
dancing through my thoughts...

and i closed my eyes
to recapture the memory
of your body against mine...
but it was fleeting

i feel empty

and so i read the words again
and listen to the voices
of my fantasies
as i look into the eyes
and kiss the paper lips
of the one i belong to...

there is no one for me
but you...
no reflection
that does not make me think
of you...

i am yours

body and mind
heart and soul

tell me what you want of me
and it shall be freely given

love for you binds me
and oh!
i would not trade it
for any other chain...

one day
i vow it now
the dream and the reality
will unite forever
and become one
