I decided
to walk

leaving your
house after
the hours we
spent together

I thought
I would enjoy
the memories
better if I
was out in the
fresh air

with my head
clear as day
and my lungs
full with
after rain
cool evening
air

my boots
splashed
in tiny
puddles
as I walked

and I was
still steeped
in your scent

I thought to
pick a flower
but decided
against it

I wanted you
and only you
in my every sense

I looked out
over the rain covered
street and saw the
light reflected there
and thought of
your shining eyes

I listened to
the gentle hum
of the world
and could still
taste, just barely,
the whisper of
your skin on my
skin

I thought about
the warm, complete
joy that lives in
my soul at knowing
that we

are we

and that
we are

in mad love
in open love
in love love

and my smile
grew bright as
the heavens

and my step
light

and my tears
flowed for all
to see

screaming

I love her

and she, for
all my unworthiness

love me

and loves me

well

blue
