Click hereShe didn't react when I told her
I was leaving. Just stared at me
With a sad expression, one that
Said she knew this was coming
Like a storm on the horizon
We loved too much
Too hard
Too fast
It burned us with the intensity
And burned out as a result
Nothing could survive for long
In that crucible, it would have
Ended regardless.
But in the end she left a mark
On me as indelible as a volcanic crater
She forced me to grow, to become more
Than I ever imagined I could be
She helped me move to a point beyond
Anywhere I could have reached on my own
Just as I did for her
But in moving each other to those points
We moved too far apart
We said good-bye and drifted away
into the new worlds we'd created
