Ear to the Door

I despise the way you slam the door
A sudden noise when off you go
No goodnight nor even a kiss
No peck on the cheek
Pray think of this…

I need to talk and to vent
Walking away is not my intent
I need your kiss
Have I lost the fun? the vibe?
The humour that keeps me alive?
Conflicting thought of independent minds
Two of a kind
Something is amiss
Against each other
Hard to describe
I know one day our minds will meet
But now I must analyse my sorrow
Thoughts in my mind hard to find
Contemplate hard and deep
Do I walk away?
Or follow?

I despise the way you slam the door
A sudden noise that says “No more!”
An act of pride that purges
The anger within that surges.
Yet deep within me a feeling
One I tried hide.
Ear to the door I listen,
And open it a crack,
And pray to God you are waiting
For me on the other side.
