I'm standing on the edge of time
Between life and death
On the verge of breaking down
Fearful of the events surrounding my next breath
Fear of the unknown
Of what may be ahead
If life continues on through death
Or if it ends instead
I've seen death up close
And felt its acute pain
Swallowed of its bitterness
Tasted of its shame
Been down that road before
Felt the hopelessness of the dark
Felt the mystery of it all
Been branded by its mark
I've seen glimpses of another life
Images imprinted on my mind
But still there are doubts
As I stand here on the edge of time

There are always doubts but sometimes you have to build your wings as you fall.
