Life is short
This I know
It's hard to let go
Of the ones you love

Memories appear
Slapped in my face
Reminiscing of yesterdays
The rain pours
I feel so confused
I don't know how to say goodbye to you
I'm so afraid
I feel so cold
This helpless feeling so uncontrolled

The storm clouds are closing in
They bring me to my knees, bring me to my knees
Coming undone from within
An emotional freeze
I don't want to see you cry
Wipe the tears from your eyes
You know I'm going to die
I don't have time for goodbyes
This is real life
Go on and live your life
There is no reason to deny
I don't have time for goodbyes

Life is cruel
It's a fact
Like your shell
It will easily crack

A misty haze
This is my past
Unlike a movie
I can't be recast

My last breath
It eases out
Now you know
There is no doubt

The light I see
Could it be the truth?
I will always be with you

The storm clouds are closing in
They bring me to my knees, bring me to my knees
Coming undone from within
An emotional freeze
I don't want to see you cry
Wipe the tears from your eyes
You know I'm going to die
I don't have time for goodbyes
This is real life
Go on and live your life
There is no reason to deny
I don't have time for goodbyes

The storm clouds are here I see, now I see
They are here to take me away, so far away
Defrost my emotional freeze, and leave me where I lay

I don't want to see you cry
Wipe the tears from your eyes
You know I'm going to die
I don't have time for goodbyes
Go on and live your life
No reason to deny
I don't have time for goodbyes

Tears spill from your eyes
I still see you cry
Everybody has to die
There isn't time for goodbyes

I've lived a good life
With you by my side
I pray you hear my cries
Goodbye baby, goodbye

Best and most powerful poem

This is the best and most powerful poem I have read on Literotica.

It aims for the jugular and hits its target.

Incredibly easy for a poem of this nature to fall into cliche. Every time it appears to come near to that it is saved by cadence.

It very carefully captures incoherence. If it were neater it would not work.

Meaning, structure and cadence.

Well done.
