ENDING THE PAIN

A man sat alone
Feeling nothing but pain,
It was now too much
It was driving him insane.

For all his life seemed
Like one big mistake,
Now that same life
He now planned to take.

It had started early
When he was only a child,
Not knowing his father
He grew up very wild.

It did not take trouble
Long to come his way,
He had found drugs
They now filled his day.

What started as a laugh
Was soon to make him cry,
He could not escape them
Though God knows he did try.

Drugs became his habit
Soothing the pain in his heart,
But they only added to his troubles
The pain and drugs now both tore him apart.

As the years went by
He grew older into a man,
The drugs took completely over
Becoming the priority of his life’s plan.

What ever it took him to do
Whom ever it would hurt,
Even the one’s he loved the most
He soon treated like dirt.

Only one thing in life mattered
That was the soothing of his pain,
Now he had reached the point
Of becoming completely insane.

When he finally realized sadly
What his life had become,
He new he could no longer
Escape the pain he was running from.

Yes, as he sat there all alone
Feeling so desperate with nothing to gain,
He slowly squeezed the trigger
Finally ending his suffering and pain…BWL
