My inspiration
walked out the door
with the one-thirty meeting,
I heard it slam,
so I know.

The second-hand mocks
and moonwalks around the table.

In fact,
if it weren't for the droning voice
on the other end,
Jason's constant rapping pen,
Christine's sloshing Perrier,
the grate of graphite
against paper,
Amanda's rapid-fire
scribbling,
or Stephen's tapping leg,
I could hear
its tick.

Distraction ~ if you have a family ~ it could happen to you. Delightful Read.

sort of funny because

you used the names of my nephew ( stephen) my daughter ( amanda), her BF ( jason) and one close to my youngest child.( kristen) are you in my bizarro universe? :D

I get tired of the noise too

;)

I think

all writers and artists can relate to this. An enjoyed read. Mentioned in today's new poem reviews.

Been there, done that ~ and it doesn't have to be;

Most of these things drag on for an hour and more

But I've seen them done quite ruthlessly in 15 minutes

{cutting out all the useless ego stroking}.
