It was as if
suddenly, your words
gained volume:
a shape, a substance
and they sang out
above all others.

And I could regard them,
reach out, and...
almost touch them:
a sculpture, a statue,
and their texture
held firm, in my grasp.

Time is ephemeral
as ink fades,
disappears from sight.
Your words remain: a statue,
messages
etched in stone.
