I fear
living among the starved
means
never being away from
foul sex, bright smiles

kitchen counter height
perfection, waxed
floor spilled
gender stains

bake a loaf and bump
me hard spatula
is flattened steel, long stemmed
stainless, flexible

look at your long self
break the mirror
kick the shards

we sweep
our mess
in innocent morning light
bending as the boots allow
