EXIT WITH A BOW
There's plenty of love poems and love songs,
But nothing for the fine sense of hate,
That you can feel after so many wrongs,
That have been done to you, and it's too late.
Too late to repair, to compensate,
Too late to ask pardon, to say "sorry",
Pathetic penitence that comes too late,
This feeling left is justified but gory.
Therefore, the only thing I've got to do,
Is to take care, this hate not to show,
Pretending that I'm still in love with you,
To give you yours and exit with a bow.
I think anger is "hot" enough an emotion to create poetry... But indeed, hate, that burns steady and low, in wait, is generally subdued. Classy poem, I like the title and the use of it as a line at the end, to form the two last (excellent) lines.
