By thin fragile thread
the leaf dangles from the lifegiver
tiny specks of lifes blood
drop into the drying, hopeless veins

Winds blow
the lifegiver clings to the leaf
yet unwilling
to release it

Unceremoniously, without fanfare
the tiny thread breaks
as the leaf floats gently, silently
to it's fate

Lying among the dead
at the lifegivers feet
The lifegiver rests for a season
With spring will come
new life and new hope
