Love dripped from a flower petal
Submerged in lip gloss and heavy metal
Love with the sex and the money
This isn't your mama's era honey

They can't believe the way I dress
He can't believe I just said yes
Likes the way I make his knees go weak
Touch him just so, and he can barely speak

He wasn't the first, and may not be the last
This love is not your fairytale from the past
I may be just a girl, but I'm not your whore
I can get mine, just like you get yours

So when love dripped from that candle onto my skin
I shivered and thought to let it in
Love is love, forever or for a night
And I'll chase it where I might.
