Feast

I hand to you the last remnants of my soul
To feast upon and gobble up or
Perhaps to savor over piece by piece
Tearing it apart with teeth and gums
Gnawing at it till it’s gone
And you spit out whatever bones are left
Onto white carpet quickly stained in blood
Dark red blood gushing at your first bite
Until it drips down your chin
As you smack your lips at that last taste
Which will stay in your mouth for days and days
Even if you try to wash it away
With beer and wine and rum
And the taste of another’s lips
It will linger forever on your tongue
To remind you of what you have done
