my form is a tent
above his swarthy body
staring into two small pools of chocolate.
my tears fall fast upon his cheeks
sprinkling hints about my life.
each tear has a name to proclaim
and as they burst open on his facial landscape
i hear them cry out their names.
Anger!
Serenity!
Relief!
Frusteration!
Guilt!
Sacrifice!
Peace!
Fulfillment!
i watch his flesh drink them in,
never filling from this soup of sweets and sours.
but i tire of serving this dish
and my last tears now fall like clear, melting marbles
and he catches these with his pale red tongue.
i have fed him
and, like a rose, his heart springs open for me.
my body tumbles down onto him
as my lips search ravenously for his.
feeding time for him has ended
and mine is just beginning.
