4th Chorus

along the river front
half gone mills
stoics from the past
standing as sentinels
from ages gone by
the mississippi runs
it's course soulless
dark and cold
smoke from stacks
rise as if reaching
for some heaven
the hum of trucks
cars rattle the bridge
in it all, one can
lose themselves
forever
