FIGHTING IT

I guess I’ll walk along the corridor
carrying my purse,
pushing my hair from my eyes

and wonder what I’ll do tonight
then wonder why I care
and is this all there is
do I even exist…

I guess I’ll try not to think
when I walk down the corridor
again
carrying my purse
and my bag of half-eaten lunch
from work

where I go every day
though it doesn’t matter
none of it’s real
and all I do will be
dust, in time…

There’s no end.
Forever there’s pain.
confusion
fear

I just need to breathe.

As I walk down the corridor.
