Our folly’s left the port. I’m at the helm;
I will away, like all the other crew
No longer welcome in that young men’s realm
Of love and happiness that we once knew.
There’s nothing for us here. We quit the queue
Of those that stand and wait each measured day
Until good fortune stops their feeling blue
And makes their lowering sky shed all its grey -
A hope foregone. We finally obey
The simple message of our hearts’ despair:
Fly all this dreariness! Away! Away!
The wonder of the world lies waiting there!
We’ve donned our motley, since our trying failed,
And gone on board. At last our ship has sailed.

A sailing ship...

...unless it sinks at sea, always comes to land. There are other shores, other ports of call. That is one joy of sailing, no?
