It seems so odd to shop for one,
but shopping’s done,
and now for tea but not for two.
My usual please.
“Madam,
Is yours hot chocolate or tea
and Eccles cake or currant bun”.
It seems so odd to shop for one.

The lonely soul...

struggles with the simple things in life that we take for granted when there are two to enjoy them together. As always, ishtat, you pen such interesting and unique topics and come out shining in the end <smile>

Sad...

when the other half of your life is gone, and you must accustom yourself to doing things on your own.

Renewal?

Sad yes, but there is the beginning of a renewal of life hinted at too . Next time I imagine her ordering a large piece of chocolate cake .
