For sale, a sign there,
I bought this house brand new,
Both our children born here,
Son Stephen and daughter Sue.
We shared the good times,
Birthdays and Christmas Eves,
And there were bad times,
That befell like Fall leaves,
For sale our memories,
First day of school,
And happy anniversaries,
My wife’s our family jewel.
Yet, now retired,
The kids grown and gone,
This house conspired,
To keep me busy all day long.
I can’t afford the upkeep,
Repairs, water, and tax.
I want to live somewhere cheap,
Play gold, cards, and relax.
I have so many pictures,
To save my memories intact,
A relic, antique fixture,
I know that I’ll be back.
almost completed life cycle. Typical of so many out there in todays economy. Nicely done.
I can't wait to show my wife this poem. We want to sell our house and retire to Florida. Maybe, this is an omen. Thanks.
