The taste of exotic fruit.
The first strawberry passion,
Sweet tart nibbles,
Mouth watering with anticipation.
All too soon the fruit is gone.
Peach exhilaration;
Flesh against my tongue,
Yielding under each bite.
Melts in your mouth,
Sooth, dark, and rich.
Sweet black cherry lust.

but I agree with jim about that line of the fruit being gone - if it must appear, it would seem to be best at the end...

jthserraover 18 years agohere, but suffered a bit from fruitis interruptus when mid stanza suddenly: "All too soon the fruit is gone." Although you pick up again with peaches and cherries, it seemed that the line above should have been presented last... or perhaps not at all because I love "Sweet black cherry lust." as a finish.
