From Within Ourselves

Shadows emerge from
time and distant places,
when a soul long denied breathes
life into the dreams it chases.

For in dreams are moments of
defeat that sweetens every victory,
so that within the darkness,
it is the bright light we see.

From within ourselves ebbs and flows
desires that will not be denied.
Yet, with what can we be satisfied?

But we keep on dreaming despite
disappointments. For there is
one fact, and surely it is this,
We are wonders of God's creation and
It is wonderful still that we exist.
