Do you feel that?
The chilling cold?
I feel the ice burning,
Cutting through my veins.

The ice settles in my core.
Freezing me.
Chilling me to the marrow.
It hurts to breathe.

The ice is numbing me
From the inside out.
I cannot feel the reassuring hugs
Or hear the kind words.

I'm frozen.
I cannot feel.
The apathy is consuming me.
Taking over everything.

How can this little chill
Make me so cold?
Benumbing my senses
Frosting over my center.

Reading this while shivering at my desk, can very much relate.
