Full Circle

byRedHairedandFriendly©

Higher the balloon sails.
The wind whips it around.
They try to catch it.
They lose.
It flies higher. It soars free.

Free like an eagle.
Wings lifting, spreading, falling.

Falling like rain.
Fast, hard, quick.
Flooding rivers, lakes, streams.

Streams of tears flow down a cheek.
Soft, cold, and dimpled.

Dimpled smile rarely seen.
Hidden away from view.
Scared to come out because it will be hurt.

Hurt and torn apart.
The heart of the child.
As the balloon flies free.
