I thought that it was guarded,

I thought it was secure.

I thought our love the kind,

through hardships would endure.

I thought how much I loved you,

would be enough for you,

but no matter of intent now,

still your promises untrue.

You think it should be easy,

to just turn away with ease.

And I asked, I begged, I pleaded,

Baby, dont walk away please!!

But clearly you can't love me,

here is where I need to start,

so I'm handing you the keys, love,

the keys back to your heart.

I'm taking back the promises,

everyone I ever made.

And giving up on knowing,

how could your love just fade.

Like when dandelions die,

stars at the dawning's light,

in time I'll bloom and shine,

and again my love burn bright.
