Parody of Lee Greenwood's classic

God Bless The U.S.A.

If the sons I raised all my life came out of the closet today
And I had to chose between them and my hot younger wife

I'd thank my lucky stars that those boys taught me a real lesson of love today
'Cause no matter the choice of lifestyle they've made
They're still a part of my soul forever and nobody can take that away from me

And I'm proud they're homosexuals
No matter what anyone else says
Cos at least I know they are truely happy
Never having to pretend anymore
And I won't forget the men they've now become
The brave ones who stepped forward to show me....

And I'd gladly stand next to them and defend them here today
'Cause there ain't no doubt in my mind now
There ain't nothing wrong if one man loves another man that way
Oh God bless the gays in the U.S.A.

So no matter where they go
From the lakes of Minnesota to the hill of Tennessee
Across the plains of Texas
From sea to shining sea
I'll still love them no matter the choices they make
Everyday

So please if you're a parent like me
With a gay child or two
Won't you please rise up
From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Show your pride in every parent's heart
Cos it's time we all took a stand at last to say

And I'm proud they're homosexuals
No matter what anyone else says
Cos at least I know they are truely happy
Never having to pretend anymore
And I won't forget the men they've now become
The brave ones who stepped forward to show me....

And I'd gladly stand next to them and defend them here today
'Cause there ain't no doubt in my mind now
There ain't nothing wrong if one man loves another man that way
Oh God bless the gays in the U.S.A.

Wow, this so works. I could completely hear it to the music in my head as I read it. Rock on, Ramona. Rock on.
