I was once told by a wise holy man,
I was a sinner and couldn’t be saved,
Asking him why,
He told me ‘You love women.’

Why would it be a sin to love what God created?
Where do you get this information?
Out of a book,
Created by man?

Strange that I’m exciled and hated,
When a murderer can be saved in prison,
I never took life that He created,
I simply love a different kind of person.

Swing to a different tune,
Imagine that you’re in my shoes,
Do you think I worry about my soul,
When yours is darker than mine?

I may have ‘unnatural’ attraction to a woman,
But I don’t judge or lie,
In the book we created,
I’m chastised once but you’re plastered all over.

Funny how I can twist your words,
Almost as easily as you do,
Crazy that I can pray,
With no fear of being struck down.

You can ask me on the street,
If I’m a lesbian,
I’ll smile and laugh,
And say ‘Yes, yes I am’.

I will love women no matter what you say,
It may be a sin,
But would God really hate me,
Since he’s the one who made me?
