Today was a very good day for somebody
but certainly not for Jesus. Oh sure,
now it is, but so what. For Jesus,
today was the last day in his hell on Earth.

So come to think of it,
maybe it wasn't so bad after all.

I wonder what the weather was like?
Did the clouds scowl? Did they cry
the tears of angels, or was it
just as baby blue as it is today
and as your eyes always are
in all our Christian Bibles?

Congratulations, Jesus,
because in case you didn't notice
you made the cover of Time.

When was the last time that happened?

It's all because of Hollywood, of course.
We are just as superficial as always,
just the way God planned it,
and just the way we have been
unable to devine it all these years.

interesting

have you ever googled God?

I have and He was there, in fact

everywhere. Sometimes I imagine Him

watching, writing in His book

taking names, counting just

how many times I have peed

in my life; I hope He fills

that "book" with something

other than mundane facts

of my existance.

Nice little satire, Mr. Porter.

Pointed, as satire should be. Nice read.

Witty

I loved the sarcastic tone of the narrator, adds a nice touch to the poem. An enjoyable poem, mentioned in today's new poem reviews.
