Good morning.
How are you feeling today?
Today I am feeling mostly with my heart,
but I am safe behind my porch
and the dog is barking in the back yard,
so there's no need to worry.

A heart filled with love is broken,
but how can that be?
Well, it's not really broken,
just cracked, I suppose,
because it was broken a long time ago
before you glued me back together.

But I've fashioned a coat of emotions,
and look, my feelings are on my sleeve.
That's not always a good thing, is it.
I'm raw as an egg in its shell,
patiently waiting to see
if I am going to be eaten or born.

How do you resolve such a thing?
